The Magnet ceased publication suddenly in 1940. At the time of closure Frank Richards had already delivered four issues from the next series. They were never published and have since been lost. Richards had started the fifth story intended for issue 1688 but had not sent it to the publishers as it was incomplete. The story appeared in print for the first time in Gyles Brandreth's book "Yarooh, a feast of Frank Richards" published by Eyre Methuen in 1976. You can read it here.
